Vase Fructus Nipa W

The Vase Fructus Nipa W is a sculptural bone china bud vase from Klatt Objects, modelled as a dense cluster of pointed pods that spiral outwards from a single narrow opening at the top. Seen from the side it reads almost as a seed head or unopened bud — a small, hand-sized piece of botanical sculpture that happens to hold a stem.

Cast in fine bone china, the porcelain has a soft, chalky white surface with no high gloss, so daylight settles gently into the hollows between the petals and the raised tips catch a quiet highlight. The tiny textural marks and creases at each pod tip keep the form organic rather than mechanical, giving this porcelain vase a wabi-sabi calm that sits happily beside linen, pale oak and unglazed ceramics.

At under 10 cm it is made for close viewing: a single dried grass or one fresh stem on a bedside table, a bathroom shelf, a console beside books, or a group of small vases along a dining table. It also works beautifully empty, as a quiet object in a Japandi or minimalist interior.
