Bowl Hana

The Bowl Hana by Klatt Objects is a bone china lattice bowl that turns a simple vessel into a small sculpture. Across its opening runs a lid-like web of hand-laid porcelain threads, crossing and looping into an irregular grid with a single open eye at the centre — part basketwork, part drawing in clay.

Fine bone china gives the piece its quiet, chalk-white surface and a translucency that catches daylight along the raised strands, throwing fine shadows down into the hollow beneath. The deep bowl below is banded with soft throwing ridges that read almost like brushstrokes, tapering to a neat pedestal foot that lifts the whole form off the table. Matte, unglazed-looking and entirely monochrome, it belongs in minimalist, japandi and wabi-sabi interiors where texture does the talking.

Place this white porcelain bowl alone on a console or sideboard, at the centre of a dining table as a still-life object, or on a stack of books in a living room. As an Easter gift it works beautifully with the lattice top left bare — the pattern is the ornament.
