The Cubistic Round is a hand-cut faceted glass vase from Guaxs, built from irregular planes that catch light like a cut mineral. Its low, rounded body swells outwards before drawing in to a faceted opening, and the ocean blue to indigo gradient deepens towards the base — smoky and almost stormy in the shadows, softly translucent where the light passes through.

Each piece begins in a German studio, modelled in an original plaster mould and then mouth blown in quality glass before the surface is cut by hand. Guaxs is a family-run German company whose glassblowers work in exclusive local workshops that specialise in small editions for international artists and designers, using natural, sustainable materials such as glass, wood and metal. Skill, coordination and physical strength give every object its own structure and character, so no two faceted vases are identical.

The sculptural silhouette works alone on a console or coffee table, grouped with other Guaxs pieces in varying heights, or on a dining table as a low centrepiece that never blocks the view. The indigo tones sit beautifully against pale oak, linen and brushed brass.
