Vase Belly Enorm 1414OL

The Vase Belly Enorm 1414OL is an olive green mouth-blown glass vase from Guaxs, built around the generous, belly-shaped silhouette that gives the Belly collection its name. The body swells gently from a narrow base to a full, rounded middle before drawing in towards a softly faceted opening, while fine horizontal ribbing wraps the surface like rings on a hand-turned form.

The finish is matte and lightly frosted rather than glossy, so light settles into the glass instead of bouncing off it — the olive tone reads deeper and mossier in the shadows and almost sage where the light catches the ridges. A series of handicraft techniques shapes each piece: the design comes to life in a German studio, where it is modelled in an original plaster mould and then mouth-blown in quality glass. Slight colour deviations may occur due to the manual production, which is part of the character of a handmade glass vase.

Its scale suits a floor position beside a sofa, a wide console in an entrance hall or a sideboard in the dining room, alone or grouped with other Guaxs pieces in different sizes. Bold yet refined, it works with earthy, natural interiors and with darker, more dramatic schemes.
