Tealight IDUNA glass dark grey

The IDUNA tealight holder by Chulo is a dark grey glass candle holder with a square, slightly tapered body and a softly undulating rim that looks as though it was drawn upward by hand. The walls are dimpled and hammered, so the surface never reads flat: it shifts between smoky charcoal, petrol blue and near-black depending on the angle.

Thick glass gives the piece real weight in the hand, while the irregular texture works like a prism around a lit tealight, breaking the flame into ripples of light across the walls and onto the table beneath. Unlit, it reads as a small sculptural vessel with an appealingly imperfect, wabi-sabi character. Group three or five along a dining table for a low, glimmering runner, set one beside the bathtub, or place a pair on a console or bookshelf where the glass can catch daylight. The moody grey tone sits comfortably with pale oak, linen and stone as well as with darker, more dramatic interiors.
